Privacy Policy

QuikKeys ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that lets you save text snippets and insert them into web pages using keyboard shortcuts. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data we collect and store

Locally (on your device only):

• Your saved snippets (name, keyboard shortcut, template text)
• Your theme preference (light or dark)

This data is stored using chrome.storage.local and never leaves your device unless you enable Pro sync (see below).

Pro sync (optional):

• If you activate a Pro license and enable sync, your snippets are stored via chrome.storage.sync, which uses Google's Chrome sync infrastructure
• We store your license key, email address, and subscription status on our servers to validate your license

2. Data we do not collect

• We do not read, record, or transmit the content of any web pages you visit
• We do not collect browsing history
• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts
• We do not sell any data to third parties

3. Permissions used

• storage — to save your snippets and preferences locally
• activeTab — to insert snippet text into the currently active tab when triggered from the side panel
• sidePanel — to display the snippet manager as a Chrome side panel
• Host permissions (<all_urls>) — the keyboard shortcut listener must be active on any page the user is working in

4. Third-party services

• Stripe — used to process Pro license payments. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy
• Google Chrome sync — used for Pro cross-device snippet sync. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy

5. Data retention

Local snippet data is retained until you uninstall the extension or manually delete it. License records on our servers are retained for the duration of your subscription and deleted upon request.

6. Your rights

You can export, delete, or request deletion of any data associated with your account at any time by contacting us.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
